June Roundtable
Our June Roundtable will be Tuesday, June 9 beginning at 6:30 pm with our annual cook-out (the District will supply the hamburgers & hot dogs), your asked to bring a side dish or a dessert. We will start off with dinner and then will cover our Roundtable subjects: review program planning, popcorn update (new plan!!), and fall school night recruitment- for everybody Pack/Troop/Crew are key items on the agenda.

Fall Recruiting
Our key date for our Fall Recruitment for Packs and Troops is Thursday, August 27th! This is the night we are looking to have recruitment in our schools (this will help us coordinate promotion in the media by keying on one main date for most of our units, including Troops). Crews and Exploring Post we will be targeting towards late September or Early October to have your First Nighters.

Your Unit's Summer Plans
Has your unit made it’s summer plans? In your Roundtable folder is a card asking you what your unit’s summer plans are for this year. Cub Scout Packs: Cub Resident Camp dates, Webelos Resident Camp dates, Cub Day Camp, and qualifying for Summertime Pack Award. Boy Scout Troops/Varsity Teams/Venture Crews: Summer Camp Plans (Where, When, How many youth?), High Adventure Plans (Which Base, When, How many youth?). Turn the card back in at Roundtable or drop it by the Joplin Scout Shop. If you don’t have plans ask the Order of the Arrow, Bill, or Brian to give you some assistance.

Program Planning Tips
Remember the 1st step in program planning is to get your key leaders together (Packs: Cubmaster and all den leaders; Troops: Scoutmaster and Patrol Leaders’ Council; Venture Crews: Officers and Advisor), plan your full year through August 2010. Plan should be presented to unit’s committee for review (even Venture Crews should have their plans reviewed by the committee). Then you will want to look at your budget to support the plan you’ve laid out (include annual registration fees, Boys’ Life, advancement badges, camping trips, special ceremonies, and summer trip), the determine how you’ll fund your plan.
