The Unit Scouter Award is due no later than District roundtable. Training Awards and Veteran’s Awards (5 years tenure and up submitted at any time but this is a good opportunity to do this so your folks can be recognized at the District Dinner. The only way that someone gets recognized with awards is for YOU to submit their names

Family Friends of Scouting
Now is the time to schedule your Family Friends of Scouting presentation for 2009. All presentations should be completed before the end of March, and may be done in December and held until January! We have traditionally done several presentations at December Courts of Honor for the new year - holding the results until after January 1st to turn in. This seems to work well especially for Scout Troops who only hold two Courts of Honor each year.
For Cub Packs, the Blue and Gold banquet in February is usually the best time. It only takes about 10 minutes, and the best turnout of the year usually happens at the Blue and Gold. The Family Friends of Scouting Chairman for 2008 will be Ann Murphy. Or you may call the Rolla Service Center with your date and Unit FOS Chairman’s name at (573) 364-1504.

District Annual Dinner
River Trails District Dinner will be on Saturday, January 31. Come enjoy fellowship with your fellow Scouters. Find out who has been selected for District Awards of Merit and the Scouter of the Year for each unit.

Farewell
I have resigned from my position as District Executive for the Ozark Trails Council, effective November 17, 2008.

I would like thank you for the opportunities for professional and personal development that you have provided me. I have enjoyed working with each of you and appreciate the support provided me during my tenure. Be assured that the Council leadership will move as fast as they can to provide an excellent replacement to serve as your professional. It may take a short time to find that right person for the position. I’m sure that you will continue to give them the same level of support that you have provided to me.

Thanks for all of your best wishes and support through the years.
Susan Rostad
